| This project will remove the MacroVision
(copy protection) signals from the top and
bottom of the frame, which may cause AGC
or sync. problems with older TV's.
This project is *not* designed to allow copying of pre-recorded
rental tapes. If the TV picture jumps about for a few seconds every half minute or so, and the tracking is good on the VCR, then MacroVision signals could be causing your TV to lose sync. On an NTSC pre-recorded tape, the changing-amplitude MacroVision signal can be seen between lines 6 and 14 at the top of the frame, and below 251 at the bottom. This circuit can be placed between the video out of the VCR and the video in of the TV. Of course, older TV's may not even have a video in connector, so either the use a modulator or modifiction of the VCR may be necessary. |
